Blogs

Blogs in a classroom are such a valuable resource to have.  Blogs can be a beautiful outlet for students' beliefs, ideas, and creativity.  Some children are bashful and reserved in school and may not be able to convey all of their ideas and expression to the class with verbal language.  By using blogs in the classroom, these shy kids may be able to express themselves more freely.  Blogs can only open up doors for children and create a unity amongst the class.  Instead of students going home and doing homework traditionally, they can now be more excited to go write on their own blog.  It gives a student a sense of self of worth knowing that they created something out of nothing.  Once the school year progresses, the blogs will become more detailed and more creative.
I can not wrap my head around anyone who would be against such a progressive idea.  Blogs will keep students updated with homework, events, after school activities and much more.  Parents could even benefit from student blogging.  Parents could actually see what is going on with their students' classes, therefore making them become more involved.
